About the game from Steam

UNCOVER THE HORRORS OF HORTUS
“This is a place, that should not be." | Malcolm Chambers

No record of it appears on any map. No ships pass its waters.
And yet, with no recollection of who you are or how you arrived, you awaken upon its shores.

Ritual Tides is a first-person psychological horror game set on a remote Victorian island off the British coast, and the first chapter in an ambitious new horror saga. Explore the island, survive the cult, and uncover the truth of what Hortus really is… and who you really are.

SURVIVE THE NIGHTMARES WITHIN

“What was human once was no more...It had turned." | Edward Dowden

There is many a threat upon the isles of Hortus, and you would be wise to trust only those you are certain you can.

Scavenge as best you can for ammunition and supplies, stay out of sight, and you may just survive the horrors that lurk within this wretched garden.

DISCOVER DYNAMIC FIRST PERSON GAMEPLAY

Painstaking care has gone into crafting a unique first-person experience, one we hope plays like no other.

With a bespoke first-person rig and dynamic procedural traversal systems, every movement has been designed to bring you closer to the world and its horrors.

AAA AMBITION, FUELLED BY PASSION

The Vertpaint team have been making games together for years, but Ritual Tides is the first game we can truly call our own. And we haven’t started small. Raised on games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, we love horror that rewards curiosity, with stories that run deeper the more you uncover.

With Ritual Tides, we want to respect what came before while bringing a few tricks of our own, to do our bit to help push this incredible genre forward.

We don’t have a big publisher behind us or a massive marketing budget to make noise, so every bit of support genuinely makes a difference. Liking or sharing our content, telling a friend about the game, or, best of all, wishlisting Ritual Tides on Steam helps us enormously with the algorithms, and gets the game in front of more horror fans.

It’s because of you all that we’ve been able to get this far, and we’re incredibly grateful for it.
We won’t rest until we can finally welcome you ashore to the dreaded Isles of Hortus.
Hopefully, we’ll see you there very soon...
