Ding is a TUNIC achievement awarded for ringing the Eastern Bell. [Steam achievement list](https://steamcommunity.com/stats/553420/achievements/)

Scope: the Ding achievement, its official description and the manual map Finji published, without later puzzle solutions.

## Start with the manual's map

Ding's official description on Steam is "Rang the Eastern Bell", and it does not say where the bell is or how to ring it. [Steam achievement list](https://steamcommunity.com/stats/553420/achievements/) Finji's advice to stuck players is that all of the answers are in the manual. [Finji news, 7 May 2024](https://finji.co/news/2024/05/07/Tunic-psplus.html)

Finji's Xbox Wire launch post shows page 28 of the manual, a map titled "THE OVERWORLD". Red arrows mark three routes leading off the map: "TO EAST FOREST" at the east edge, "TO WEST GARDEN" at the west edge and "TO MOUNTAIN DOOR" at the top. None of the page's English labels mentions the Eastern Bell. [Manual page 28, Finji launch post](https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2022/03/16/tunic-launches-today-with-xbox-game-pass/)

<details data-spoiler><summary>Spoiler: the West Bell box on manual page 28</summary>

A box in the lower left corner of page 28 is headed "RINGING THE WEST BELL"; apart from the place names "WEST GARDEN" and "DARK TOMB", its text is in the game's invented script. That heading names the West Bell, not the Eastern Bell. [Manual page 28, Finji launch post](https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2022/03/16/tunic-launches-today-with-xbox-game-pass/)

If combat is holding you back, [[Tips for Beginners]] covers what the developer has said about stamina and what dying costs, and [[Common Questions]] covers the combat options, including No Fail mode.

## Confirm completion

Check the platform achievement list for Ding. Ding is not a hidden achievement. Dong, "Rang the Western Bell", is a separate achievement, so ringing one bell does not stand in for the other. On 18 October 2026, Steam's global achievement stats listed Ding at 75.9% and Dong at 53.7%. [Steam achievement list](https://steamcommunity.com/stats/553420/achievements/)
