Pelican Town is home to dozens of villagers with daily schedules, gift preferences and personal story events.

## Friendship

Friendship grows by talking daily and giving up to two gifts per week (plus birthdays, which count massively more). Higher friendship unlocks heart events, recipes and new dialogue.

## Marriage

Twelve villagers are marriage candidates. Romance requires a bouquet from Pierre's shop at eight hearts, and marriage requires the Mermaid's Pendant.

## Gift basics

Every villager has loved, liked, neutral, disliked and hated gift categories. Universally safe picks exist, but discovering personal favorites is much more rewarding.
